| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement method: “What if…?” |
Teacher says: “Good morning, everyone! Let’s start with a short ‘What if…?’ question. Imagine: What if mobile phones were not allowed at school at all — no phones in backpacks, no phones in breaks. How would your day change? What would you do differently? Think for 20 seconds, then share with the person next to you.” Wait 30 sec. Then ask 3–4 students to share. Possible answers: “I would talk more with friends.” / “I wouldn’t check social media.” / “We would play board games.” / “I would feel bored.” Transition: “Great ideas! Today we will learn how to talk about habits, routines and facts — things that are true (affirmative) and things that are not true (negative) — using the Present Simple tense. You will use this grammar to discuss rules, rights and responsibilities, just like the rules about phones at school.” Value link: “In our Constitution, every citizen has the right to privacy and access to information, but also the duty to follow school rules. Let’s see how we can express these ideas in English.” |
