Engagement: "Transport speed run"

Teacher script: "Good morning, class! Today we are going to talk about transport. Let’s start with a quick game. I will show you 10 pictures of different vehicles – you have 60 seconds to write down the name of each in English. Ready? Go!"

Use a timer on the screen. Show slides: bus, train, bicycle, car, plane, ship, tram, taxi, metro, motorcycle.

After 60 seconds: "Stop! Now check with a partner. How many did you get? Raise your hand if you got all 10! Well done. Today we will focus on public transport in Kazakhstan."
  • Students look at pictures and write down transport words.
  • After timer, they pair-check and count correct answers.
  • Some students share their total.
