| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement (Riddle) |
Teacher: "Good morning, class! Let's start with a riddle. I am thinking of five things. They all start with different letters. Listen carefully: 1. She wears a crown and lives in a palace. 2. It has long ears and hops. 3. You sit on it in the living room. 4. It's a soft toy bear. 5. You use it when it rains. What are they?" Write the first letters Q, R, S, T, U on the board as hints. Encourage guesses. "Great! Today we will learn these letters and words: Q for queen, R for rabbit, S for sofa, T for Teddy, U for umbrella. Let's say them together!" |
Students listen to the riddle. They think and raise hands to guess (e.g., "A king?", "A bunny!", "A chair?", "A bear!", "A raincoat?"). After hints, they try to say the full words. They repeat the words chorally after the teacher. | Provide picture cards of the five items. For a student with attention difficulties, the teacher can give a card and ask, "Is this the rabbit?" to elicit a yes/no response. | Descriptors: The student participates by listening, attempting a guess, or repeating words. No points. |
Whiteboard, markers, picture cards (queen, rabbit, sofa, teddy bear, umbrella). AI Tool: Use an AI image generator (e.g., DALL-E, Midjourney) to create unique, engaging riddle images shown on a screen to spark curiosity. |
