Lesson goal
  1. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to demonstrate comprehension of grammar (Present Perfect vs. Past Simple, modals of deduction) and vocabulary (crime, phrasal verbs) from Units 9-10 by completing at least 80% of the Revise and Check exercises correctly.
  2. Students will analyze a short text on a civic issue, identify the main argument and key details, and formulate at least three different types of questions (e.g., yes/no, wh-, tag) to discuss its implications.
  3. Students will apply the value of "Law and Order" by collaboratively creating and presenting a set of 5 rules for a specific public context (e.g., school library, public transport), justifying each rule with a logical argument.

Engagement (Mind Map & Discussion)		 Teacher: "Good morning, class. Today we are revising Units 9 and 10. Let's start with a quick mind map. On the board, I'm writing 'Rules and Consequences'. In 1 minute, write down all the words or phrases you associate with this topic in your notebooks. Ready? Go!" (After 1 min). "Time's up. Look at your maps. Now, choose the three most interesting or important words from your list. Turn to your partner and explain why you chose them. For example, 'I chose 'justice' because...' You have 2 minutes." Students individually create a mind map with associations (e.g., law, police, fine, responsibility, safety). Then, in pairs, they discuss their three selected words, giving brief justifications. Descriptors:
  • Generates at least 5 relevant associations.
  • Selects 3 words and provides a simple reason for each choice.
  • Actively listens to a partner.
