Lesson opening (5 min)
Engagement (Mind map & discussion)
Teacher: "Good morning, class. Our topic today is revision of Units 5 and 6. I want you to take one minute and create a quick mind map in your notebooks. In the center, write 'Units 5 & 6'. What words, grammar rules, or topics come to your mind from these units? Just write them down. Ready? Go." (Monitors time).

"Time's up. Now, look at your map. I want three volunteers to share one word or idea from their map and explain why they chose it. For example, 'I wrote 'present perfect' because we use it for experiences.' Who would like to start?" (Facilitates brief sharing from 3 students).
Students create an individual mind map, recalling vocabulary (e.g., feelings, crimes, adjectives with -ed/-ing), grammar (past tenses, present perfect), and topics from Units 5 and 6.

Selected students share their associations. Possible responses: "I wrote 'burglar' from the crime vocabulary," "I thought of 'narrative tenses' for telling stories," "I remembered 'embarrassed' as a feeling."
Descriptors only (no points):
  • The student generates at least 4 relevant associations in the mind map.
  • The student orally explains their chosen association with a clear connection to the unit content.
Student notebooks, pens, whiteboard/blackboard for teacher to note shared ideas.
