| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement (Mind map & discussion) |
Teacher: "Good morning! Our topic is 'Entertainment & Media'. Let's do a quick mind map. In 1 minute, write down all words you associate with 'media'." (Writes "MEDIA" on board). After 1 min: "Great. Now, let's look at three words: 'film', 'news', 'song'. How are these things created? Who makes them? Let's think. For example, 'Many people watch films.' Can we say it differently? 'Films are watched by many people.' Notice the difference? Today we'll learn how to make such sentences – this is called the Passive Voice." | Students quickly write associations (TV, internet, newspaper, radio, YouTube, podcast) in notebooks. They listen and respond to teacher's questions about the three selected words. They note the example of the passive sentence. | Provide a pre-drawn mind map template with some starter words (TV, radio) and images. Allow oral instead of written responses. | Descriptors only, no points. • The student contributes at least one association to the mind map (orally or in writing). • The student participates in the discussion by listening and offering a simple idea. |
Whiteboard/markers, student notebooks, printed mind map template for SEN students. |
