1-minute mind map: On the board draw a circle with “HEALTH”. Ask: “What words come to your mind? Think of body parts, rules, safety.” Write students’ ideas around (head, hands, traffic light, etc.). Pick 3 associations: head, hands, rule — discuss: “Why are hands important? What rule keeps us safe?” (e.g. wash hands, cross road carefully). Value link: “Today we also talk about rules – law and order. At school we follow rules; on the road we follow traffic lights. Our body helps us to be safe.” Teacher script: “Look at the board. Say one word about health or body. Great! Now we remember: this/these for things near, that/those for far.” |
|
Use flashcards with body parts + word. For SEN: point to picture and say “head” – pair with peer. |
Descriptors (no points): • participates in mind map • repeats one demonstrative phrase • shows understanding of near/far with gesture. |
Whiteboard, markers, body part flashcards, AI tool: ChatGPT to generate simple sentences for display (e.g. “This is my nose.”). |
