| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement — Storytelling with mistake |
Teacher script: “Boys and girls, listen to my short story. I will make one silly mistake — you have to spot it! Ready?” “Yesterday I saw a fluffy cat. It was big. Then I saw a dog. It was fluffy. I gave the cat a bone and the dog some milk. I love animals! But wait … did I do something wrong?” Expected mistake: cats don’t eat bones, dogs drink milk but not usual; or mixing food. Let learners raise hands. Praise correct spotting. “Great! We must be kind and know what animals need. Today we will talk about animals and make our own animal book.” |
– Listen carefully. – Raise hand when they hear a mistake. – Say “Cats don’t eat bones!” or “Dogs like meat, not milk.” – One or two share their idea. |
Descriptors (no points): – spots the mistake and explains briefly. – shows active listening, responds with a sentence. |
– Teacher’s voice / storytelling. – (optional) picture of a cat and dog. |
