1. Greeting & Mind Map Creation (1 min): "Good morning, class! Today we will talk about being polite. Let's think of words. What do we say to be nice to our friends?" Teacher draws a circle on the board with "Be Polite!" inside. As students call out words, the teacher draws branches and writes them down (e.g., hello, thank you, please, sorry, goodbye). 2. Discussion of 3 Associations (4 min): "Great ideas! Let's talk about three of these." Points to 'please', 'thank you', and 'hello'. "When do we say 'please'?" (When we ask for something). "And 'thank you'?" (When we get something). "When do we say 'hello'?" (When we meet someone). "These words make people feel happy and respected." |
- Students listen to the teacher's instructions. - Students volunteer words associated with being polite (e.g., hi, thanks, please, bye). - Students answer the teacher's questions about when to use the selected polite words. Possible responses: "We say 'please' for a pencil", "We say 'thank you' to the teacher", "We say 'hello' in the morning". |
Formative: Oral questioning. Observation of student participation in generating the mind map. | Whiteboard or interactive screen, markers. AI Tool: Miro or Jamboard for collaborative digital mind mapping. The teacher can project a live board where student suggestions are added visually, engaging visual learners. |
