| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement (method: riddle + hypothesis) |
Teacher says: “Hello, children! Look at my hands. I have something hidden. Listen to a riddle: ‘I am purple or green, I am small and round. I grow on a tree. I am sweet. What am I?’ (Pause). Who has an idea? Raise your hand.” After a few guesses (apple? grape?): “It’s a PLUM! Today we will say ‘I like plums!’ and learn numbers 19 and 20.” Teacher shows a real plum or picture: “Let’s say together: plum. Now, what colour? Purple. Do you like plums? Let’s guess how many plums I have? (shows a bag). Your hypotheses?” (students guess 5, 10, 19). Teacher: “We will find out after we learn numbers 19 and 20!” AI tool suggestion (for teacher preparation): use ChatGPT to generate simple riddle variations or image prompt for Midjourney (plum tree). Not used during lesson with students. |
|
Descriptors (no points): • Actively listens and responds with at least one guess. • Repeats vocabulary after teacher. • Participates in hypothesis sharing. |
Real plum or high-quality picture; bag (opaque); whiteboard marker; AI tools: none for students at this stage. |
