| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement (Mind map & discussion) |
Teacher: "Good morning! Today we are talking about experiences. Let's start with a 1-minute mind map. The central word is 'EXPERIENCE'. Write down any words or phrases you associate with it in your notebooks. Ready? Go!" (Times 1 minute). "Time's up. Look at your maps. I will choose three words from different students to discuss. [Teacher picks, e.g., 'travel', 'learn', 'see']. Who has the word 'travel'? Aliya, please. Have you travelled somewhere in Kazakhstan? Tell us one place." (Listens, then asks another student about 'learn'). "Great! You've mentioned things you have done. This is our grammar focus today: the Present Perfect tense. It helps us talk about experiences up to now." |
Students quickly create a mind map with the word "EXPERIENCE" in the center, branching out associated words (e.g., fun, memory, trip, school, family). Selected students answer the teacher's questions, sharing simple experiences: "Yes, I have been to Shymkent." / "I have learned about Abai." Other students listen actively. |
