• By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use 8–10 subject-specific vocabulary items (holiday activities, abstract nouns) in spoken and written sentences with correct syntax.
• Students will analyse a real‑life holiday advertisement/infographic and produce a short persuasive text using compound nouns and complex noun phrases.
• Students will demonstrate understanding of Kazakh cultural holidays and express patriotic connection through a creative group project.

Teacher says: “Good morning, everyone! Let’s start with associations. Take one minute and draw/write a mind map of words you think of when I say ‘Holidays in Kazakhstan’. Use any colours, any words. Ready? Go!”

After 1 min: “Look at your map. Choose the three most interesting words. We’ll share in a moment.” Teacher picks 3 students (or volunteers) to share and writes keywords on board: Nauryz, eagle hunting, family, steppe, independence, traditions.

Dialogue script:
T: “Why did you write ‘eagle hunting’?”
S: “It’s unique, only in Kazakhstan.”
T: “Great! That’s part of our culture. And ‘independence’ – what does it mean for you?”
S: “We can travel, celebrate freely.”

• Each student creates individual mind map (1 min).
• Selects 3 strongest associations.
• Volunteers share and explain briefly.

• Student produces a mind map with at least 5 relevant words.
• Chooses 3 words and gives a short reason.
• Participates in discussion.

• Coloured markers, A4 paper or digital whiteboard (Miro).
• AI tool: ChatGPT (quick generation of word associations if needed).
• Board for keywords.
