| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement (Timed Sentence Sort) |
Teacher: "Good morning! Today we are talking about rules and our future plans. Let's warm up. You have 3 minutes. On your desks are cards with sentence parts. Your task is to match the beginning of a rule or plan with its correct ending. For example: 'We ... wear uniforms' and '... are going to clean the park on Saturday.' Ready? Go! (Starts timer)." After timer: "Time's up! Let's check quickly. Who has a sentence about a rule? Who has one about a plan?" (Takes 2-3 answers). |
Students work in pairs to sort the mixed sentence cards into logical pairs that describe a rule or a future plan. They discuss their choices with their partner. | Provide cards with color-coding (green for rule starters, blue for plan starters). Offer a reduced number of cards (4 instead of 6). Pair SEN student with a supportive peer. | Descriptors: The student participates in the matching activity. The student can identify at least one correct sentence pair. (no points) | Timer (online or phone), sets of laminated sentence cards (e.g., "We will / We are going to / We are / We have"), whiteboard, markers. |
