Lesson opening (5 min)
Engagement (Storytelling with a trigger)
Teacher: "Good morning, everyone! I want to tell you about my weekend. I went to a fantastic local festival called 'The Day of Floating Apples'. People gather by the river, sing traditional songs about... computers? Wait, that doesn't sound right. They then cook a special dish made of... concrete? Hmm. Finally, they release beautifully painted apples into the river to bring good luck for the coding season. Does that sound logical to you?"

Pause for reactions.

"Exactly! Something's off. Your task is to spot the 2-3 illogical elements in my story. What doesn't fit the context of a traditional festival? Discuss with your neighbor for 1 minute."
Students listen actively. They identify the trigger words ("computers", "concrete", "coding season") that contradict the traditional festival context. They turn to a partner (5 pairs total) and discuss their findings.

Possible responses: "Computers aren't traditional." "You can't eat concrete." "Coding isn't related to apples and rivers."
Descriptors:
  • The student actively listens to the story.
  • The student identifies at least one illogical element based on context.
  • The student participates in pair discussion.
No points.

AI Tool Suggestion: An AI text generator (e.g., ChatGPT) could be used by the teacher beforehand to create multiple versions of such "trigger stories" with different complexity levels to suit the class.
