| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement (Mind map & discussion) |
Teacher: "Good morning! Our topic is holidays. Let's do a quick mind map. You have 1 minute. In your notebooks, write 'Holidays' in the center and draw branches. What words come to your mind? Think of places, activities, feelings, transport, things you pack." (Monitors time). "Time's up. Now, look at your map. Choose three words you think are most interesting or important. Be ready to share one with the class." (After 30 seconds). "Who wants to start? Alina, what's one word from your map?" Possible prompts: "Why is 'beach' important for a holiday?", "How does 'excited' relate to travel?" |
Students quickly create a mind map with associations (e.g., beach, plane, suitcase, happy, hotel, sightseeing). They select three words. Volunteers share one word and give a brief reason (e.g., "I chose 'mountains' because I like hiking on holiday"). |
