| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement (mind map) |
Teacher: "Good morning, class! Today we talk about school rules. First, let's make a quick mind map. On the board, I write 'SCHOOL RULES' in the centre. You have 1 minute to write down any words you think of: things you must do, mustn't do, should do. Ready? Go!" After 1 minute, teacher picks three words from the board and asks: "Why did you write this word? Is it a rule in our school? Do you like it?" Example discussion: "Who wrote 'uniform'? In our school, do we have a uniform? Is it a good rule?" Teacher actions: Draw mind map on whiteboard, circulate, encourage all 13 students to participate. Call on 3 students to explain their word. |
Students take turns coming to the board or calling out words. They write or say: uniform, mobile phone, late, polite, canteen, corridor, homework, respect. Three selected students explain their word: "I wrote 'mobile' because we mustn't use phones in class." |
