  2. Learners will form at least 2 correct questions using who, what, where, how, when about transport with support.
  3. Learners will produce 3–4 short statements about transport following subject–verb–object word order (e.g., A bus goes in the city).

Engagement (riddle)

Greeting & riddle: “Good morning, class! Today we explore city transport. Listen to my riddle: I have four wheels, I carry people from place to place, I go ‘beep-beep’ in the city. I am not a train nor a bike. What am I? (allow guesses – car / bus). Great! You are detectives.”

Hypotheses: “Why do we need different transport in the city? Who uses them? Write one idea on your mini-whiteboard.”

Teacher collects 2–3 ideas, builds curiosity.
  • Listen to riddle, guess (car, bus, taxi).
  • Write 1 hypothesis on whiteboard (e.g., “to go to school”, “to help people”).
  • Share with partner.
  • Visuals: 4 transport flashcards (bus, car, bike, train) on board.
  • Sentence starters: “I think …” + picture prompts.
  • Teacher uses gestures and repeats key words.
 Descriptors (no points):
  • Participates in guessing (verbal/non-verbal).
  • Shares a hypothesis (word or picture).
