Teacher: "Good morning! I have a riddle for you. Listen carefully: 'I am found in every forest, but I am not a tree. You can find me in some rivers, but not in any sea. I have no fixed shape, but I am everywhere. What am I?' Think for 30 seconds, then share your ideas with a partner." After pair discussion: "Who has a hypothesis? Aisulu?" (Listens to answers like "air", "sound", "shadow", "soil"). "Interesting ideas! The answer is... 'a sound'. You can hear a sound in every forest, in some rivers (waterfalls), but not in any sea (it's too deep for many sounds to travel), and it has no shape but is everywhere. Today, we will use words like 'every', 'some', 'any', and 'no' to explore and describe our natural world." |
Students listen to the riddle. They think individually, then discuss hypotheses with a partner (9 pairs total). Volunteers share their guesses with the class. | Descriptors: The student actively listens to the riddle. The student proposes a logical hypothesis. The student engages in partner discussion. No points. |
