| Lesson opening (5 min) Engage – rapid challenge |
Teacher script: “Good afternoon! Let’s start with a 60‑second word race. In pairs (8 pairs + 1 trio) you’ll write as many clothing or shoe words as you can. Timer starts now!” After 60 s: “Pair 3 – read your list. Any word we haven’t heard? Great. Now look at the board: I’ll show 6 pictures (jacket, sandals, scarf, belt, boots, hoodie). Say the word and spell it. Ready?” Differentiation prompt: weaker students can use the word bank on the desk; advanced add one adjective (e.g. woollen scarf). AI integration (quick demo): “I asked ChatGPT ‘Give me 5 unusual clothing words for A2 learners’. It suggested dungarees, flip‑flops, blazer, leggings, cardigan. Which ones do you know? We’ll use flip‑flops later.” |
All 17 engaged – each pair shares at least 3 words. |
