Teacher: “Good morning everyone! Today we start a new topic: 'People who help us'. Let’s think: when there is a natural disaster – like an earthquake or flood – who comes to help? I want you to create a quick mind map in your notebook. In the centre write 'HELPERS'. Around it, write any words you know – professions or actions. You have 1 minute. Go!” After 1 minute: “Now, look at your map. I will pick three words from you. (Calls on 3 students) What did you write? Why is that person important?” (e.g., firefighter – puts out fires; doctor – treats injured people) Teacher dialogue script: “Great! So today we will learn more about these heroes.” |
- Students draw a mind map with 'HELPERS' in centre and brainstorm words individually. - Three students share one word each and give a short reason. |
Descriptors: • Participates in mind map activity. • Contributes at least one relevant word. • No points. |
- Notebooks, pens - Whiteboard or projector (optional for teacher example) - AI tool: ChatGPT or Gemini to generate example mind map words if needed (teacher can show on screen: "firefighter, rescue, ambulance") |
