1. By the end of the lesson, 90% of students will be able to extract 3–4 specific details from a short authentic text about a past experience (e.g., a weekend trip).
2. Students will be able to ask and answer 3–5 Wh-questions (What, Where, When, Who, How) about past experiences using Past Simple.
3. Students will actively use at least 5 topic-specific vocabulary items (e.g., visited, travelled, enjoyed, watched, played) in a creative group task.

Teacher: "Good morning, everyone! Look at this photo on the screen. It’s from my last summer – I visited the Charyn Canyon. I took a selfie near the red rocks. (show picture) What do you think happened next? Did I hike to the bottom? Did I see a wild animal? Make a prediction in pairs."

Teacher gives 1 minute pair talk, then asks 2–3 pairs to share predictions.

Possible student answers: "You climbed a rock", "You took many photos", "You met a tourist."

Teacher links to topic: "Today we’ll talk about our own past experiences – trips, events, and fun moments."

• Look at the image.
• In pairs (10 pairs of 2) discuss one prediction.
• Share predictions with class.

• Student makes a plausible prediction about the photo.
• Student uses at least one past tense form (e.g., "You climbed…").
