Lesson goal
  • By the end of the lesson, students will be able to construct grammatically accurate sentences in response to higher-order thinking prompts, demonstrating correct use of target structures (e.g., complex sentences, passive voice, reported speech).
  • Students will be able to analyze a multi-paragraph text to identify and explain its organizational pattern (e.g., cause-effect, problem-solution).
  • Students will produce a short, coherent written text on a given topic with a focus on grammatical accuracy and logical paragraph development.

Lesson opening (5 min)
Engagement (Grammar Sprint)		 Teacher: "Good morning! Today is our grammar progress check. To warm up our minds, we'll have a 3-minute 'Grammar Sprint'. I will show 5 sentences with one grammatical error each. In your notebooks, write only the corrected version of each sentence. Ready? Timer starts now!" (Displays sentences via projector, 30 seconds per sentence). After time: "Time's up! Please exchange notebooks with your shoulder partner. Let's check. The correct answers are..."

AI Integration: The sentences are generated and displayed using an AI-powered interactive quiz platform (e.g., Quizizz, Wordwall). The AI adapts sentence complexity based on the class's common errors from previous lessons, ensuring relevant practice. 		Students listen to instructions. Individually, they analyze each projected sentence, identify the error, and write the corrected version in their notebooks within the time limit. They then exchange notebooks with a partner and check answers against the teacher's key, discussing any discrepancies. Descriptors (no points):
  • The student attempts to correct all 5 sentences.
  • The student engages in peer-checking, discussing corrections.
