Whole class. Teacher greets students: “Good morning, Grade 7! I’m so happy to see you all. Today we have a special mission. First, listen to my short story. Something is WRONG in my story — 5 wrong things! Your task is to spot all 5 mistakes.” Teacher tells the story (see Ready-to-use Task 1: “Alex’s First Day”). Pauses after each mistake and asks: “Only English, please! What did Alex do wrong?” Teacher collects answers on the board, writing “anti-rules” e.g., “Alex speaks Russian”, “Phone is ringing”. Then says: “Great detective work! Today we will learn the real English Classroom Rules so that nobody in our class behaves like Alex!” Teacher announces the topic and the value of the lesson: “And we will do it together, as one team. Unity is our superpower!” |
