Teacher script: “Good morning, Grade 5! Look at this short video about a boy from London who says: ‘In December it’s cold and snowy, but in July I go to the beach!’ (show 30-sec clip). Why do you think he talks about different months? Today we will learn to talk about all seasons and months like him. First, let’s predict: how many months are there in a year? (students answer). Now, can you name any season in English? I’ll write your ideas on the board.” Possible student responses: “winter”, “summer”, “spring”, “autumn”. Teacher then shows a picture of four trees (each season) and asks: “Which tree is spring? Which is winter?” AI tools: Use ChatGPT to generate a short audio dialogue (two kids discussing favourite months) for listening; use Canva AI to create a quick visual of four seasonal trees. |
Students watch video, raise hands to answer, predict number of months, and match trees to seasons. | Descriptors only (no points): • Actively participates in prediction • Names at least one season in English • Shows curiosity |
