T: "Good morning! Our topic is Travel and Holidays. I want you to think of this word: 'JOURNEY'. You have 1 minute. On your mini-whiteboards, write or draw all the words, feelings, or images that come to your mind. Ready? Go!" (Monitors time). "Time's up. Look at your boards. Now, choose the three most interesting associations from your map. For example, from my map: 'adventure', 'suitcase', and 'memories'. Who wants to share their three words and explain one?" (Selects 2-3 students). T: "Excellent. 'Airport', 'excited', 'photos' – all connected to travel. Today, we will learn to talk about travel experiences very precisely, using special grammar. Our focus is on asking good questions and talking about experiences that are connected to now." |
Students quickly create a personal mind map on 'JOURNEY' on their whiteboards. They select three key words. Volunteers share their words with the class, giving a brief reason (e.g., "I chose 'passport' because you need it to travel anywhere new."). | Provide a pre-drawn mind map template with some starter words (plane, hotel, holiday) for students to add to. Allow verbal sharing instead of written. Peer support for explaining words. | Descriptors:
