• Goal 1 (comprehension): By the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify the main points in a short text about sport and answer simple true/false questions based on it.
• Goal 2 (writing/spelling): Students will correctly spell and use 8–10 sport-related words and common verb + infinitive / verb + ing patterns (e.g., enjoy playing, want to go) in written sentences.
• Goal 3 (grammar in context): Students will use common verbs with infinitive or -ing forms (love, want, enjoy, would like, can’t stand) to write and speak about their own and others’ sporting preferences.

Teacher: “Good morning, everyone! I’m so glad to see you! Today our lesson is about sport. Before we start, let’s play a quick “What if…?” game. Listen carefully and give your idea.”

What if…? “What if there were no sports in the world at all? How would people’s lives change?”

Teacher actions: Write students’ ideas on the board. Prompt with options: “Would people be healthier or less healthy? Would children play more outside? Would we have Olympics? Would we still have football?”

Allow 2-3 minutes for the discussion; accept short answers in English or native language support.

• Students answer with their own ideas, e.g., “People would be lazy,” “No Olympics,” “We would stay home more,” “Fewer friends.”
• Students listen to each other and react with simple agreement/disagreement: “Yes, I agree,” “I think different.”

• Expresses an original idea connected to the question.
