| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement Method: mind map + discussion |
Teacher: “Good morning, everyone! Let’s start with a quick mind map. In your copybook, write the word CYCLING in the centre. In one minute, add as many words or short phrases as you can — anything that comes to mind about cycling. Ready? Go!” (timer 60 sec). After 1 min: “Now look at your mind map. Pick three words or ideas that are most important for safe cycling. I will ask a few of you to share.” Teacher elicits 3–4 students; writes some words on board (helmet, brake, traffic light, bike lane, reflectors). Teacher: “Great. Today we will explore smart rules to cycle safely and think about how diligence and professionalism help us follow them.” |
|
Provide a pre‑made word bank (helmet, bell, road, stop, look, bike) for students who need support. Use picture cards (bike, helmet, traffic light). | Descriptors only, no points • participation in mind map (at least 4 words) • shares one idea from the map (verbal or pointing) |
