Step 1. Greeting. «Good morning, dear students! I am glad to see you. How are you today?»

Step 2. Riddle. «Now, listen carefully and try to solve my riddle. I am a mysterious place in Kazakhstan. I am a hill, but I am made of sand. When people slide down my slope, I make a beautiful loud sound like singing. What am I?»

Step 3. Hypotheses. «Take a guess. Work with your partner and discuss possible answers.»

Possible student answers: «Is it a sand dune?», «Is it a mountain?», «Is it a beach?»

Step 4. Reveal. «You are right! It is the Singing Dune in Altyn Emel National Park. Today we will read about three amazing travel experiences — including this one — and learn to ask questions about them.»
