| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement (Storytelling with a mistake) |
Teacher: "Good morning, class! Today we are starting a journey to a magical land. I will tell you the beginning of a famous story. Listen very carefully because I might make one silly mistake. Your task is to find it!" Storytelling: "A young girl named Dorothy lived on a farm in Kansas with her Aunt Em and Uncle Henry. One day, a big hurricane came. Dorothy and her little dog, Toto, were in the house when it was carried away by the wind. They landed in a beautiful, colorful country called Wonderland. There, she met a talking Scarecrow who wanted a brain, a Tin Woodman who wanted a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who wanted courage. They decided to go to the Emerald Castle to find the Great Wizard who could help them all." Teacher: "So, what was my mistake? What doesn't belong in this story? Discuss with your neighbor for 30 seconds." |
Students listen attentively to the story. They discuss in pairs to identify the mistake. Possible answers: "The country is called Oz, not Wonderland." or "Wonderland is from 'Alice', not 'Wizard of Oz'." Students raise hands to share their findings. |
