Engagement (Storytelling with a trigger)
Teacher: "Good morning, explorers! Today, we're diving into the world of adventure stories. To start, I'll tell you a short story about my 'adventure' last weekend. Listen carefully!"

Story: "Last Saturday, I went for a walk in the mountains. It was a good day. The path was long but easy. Suddenly, I saw a cave. It was the more interesting thing I saw all day! I thought, 'This is dangerouser than staying home,' but I went in. Inside, it was dark and cold. I found an old map. It was the goodest discovery ever!"

Teacher: "So, what did you think? Did you notice anything strange about my story?"
Students listen attentively. They are expected to identify the deliberate grammatical mistakes in the comparative/superlative adjectives ('more interesting' instead of 'most interesting', 'dangerouser', 'goodest').

Possible student responses: "You said 'more interesting', but it should be 'most interesting'!"; "'Goodest' is not correct, it's 'best'."

Students volunteer to correct the mistakes.
Descriptors:
  • The student listens actively to the story.
  • The student identifies at least one incorrect comparative/superlative form.
  • The student attempts to correct the mistake.
No points.
Whiteboard/marker. AI Tool: A text generator (e.g., ChatGPT) was used to create the story with specific, level-appropriate errors to trigger student noticing.
