| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement – storytelling with mistake |
Teacher says: “Listen to my short story about a new flat. I’ll make TWO mistakes. Raise your hand when you hear something wrong.” Story: “Yesterday my friend Asel moved to a new house. It has three floors and a big garden. Downstairs there is a kitchen, a living room and a bathroom. Her bedroom is upstairs. In the bedroom there is a bed, a desk and a kennel for her cat. She loves her new house!” Ask: “What were the mistakes? Why?” (kennel is for dog, not cat; three floors – unlikely for a house in the textbook context). Briefly elicit: “What is the topic today?” (an email about a new house). |
