| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement (meme + discussion) |
1. Greeting & meme (2 min): Display a funny image: a cartoon pencil case with a "grumpy" ruler and a "happy" rubber. Ask: "Look! Why is the ruler angry? Is it about us? What classroom objects can you see?" 2. Discussion (3 min): Elicit answers: "I see a pencil, a ruler, a rubber…" Connect to the lesson: "Today we will learn the names of our school things and talk about them." Teacher script: "Good morning, class! Look at this picture. What's funny? Point to the ruler. What colour is it? Do you have a ruler in your bag? Let's discover all the objects we use every day!" |
|
SEN support: Provide a laminated card with the five objects and their names. The student points instead of speaking if needed. Teacher models pointing and says the word together. |
Descriptors only (no points): • Actively looks at the image and shows interest. • Attempts to name at least one object. • Participates in discussion (verbal or non-verbal). |
