Teacher: "Good morning! Today's topic is about art and business. I want you to think about the word 'ART'. What comes to your mind? Let's create a mind map on the board. I'll give you 1 minute to think individually." (Writes "ART" in the center of the board). After a minute: "Now, share your ideas. [Student Name], what's your association?" (Writes student answers as branches, e.g., painting, emotion, money, talent, therapy). "Great. Now, let's look at three of these: 'therapy', 'money', and 'talent'. Why do you think these concepts might be connected in a story? Briefly discuss with your neighbor." Listens to 2-3 responses. "Interesting. Today we will read a story that connects all these ideas: 'Art for Heart's Sake' by R. Goldberg." | Students think individually for 1 minute. Volunteers share their associations with the word "ART" (e.g., creativity, museums, Picasso, expensive, relaxing). Students briefly discuss the three selected concepts in pairs (26 students = 13 pairs). A few pairs share their predictions with the class. |
