| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement (Rapid Pronoun Challenge) |
Teacher: "Good morning! Let's start with a 90-second challenge. I will show you a subject pronoun on the board. Your task, in pairs, is to shout out the correct object pronoun. Ready? First one: 'I'... (waits for response) 'me'! Good! Next: 'they'... 'them'! Let's go through: he, she, it, we, you (plural)." (Uses a timer). "Excellent! Now, think quickly: Why do we use these words like 'him' or 'her' in a sentence? (To receive the action). Perfect. Today's story will be full of these, so keep your ears open!" | Students work in pairs. They listen to the teacher and collaboratively shout out the corresponding object pronouns. They engage in quick recall and peer correction. | Descriptors: The student actively participates in the rapid-fire activity. The student correctly identifies at least 4 out of 7 object pronouns with peer support. Note: No points. |
Whiteboard/Projector with subject pronouns (I, you, he, she, it, we, they). Timer. AI Tool: A simple online interactive quiz platform (e.g., Quizlet Live, Kahoot!) could be pre-set for this warm-up to provide instant feedback and increase engagement. |
