| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement (Storytelling with a deliberate mistake) |
Teacher: "Good morning! Today we are diving into a fascinating story from the world of film. I'm going to tell you about a famous documentary. Listen carefully and see if you can spot something unusual in my story." Teacher tells a story: "There is a documentary called 'The Eagle Huntress'. It tells the story of a 13-year-old girl, Aisholpan, who lives in the busy, modern city of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. She dreams of becoming the first female eagle hunter in her region, a tradition that has been passed from father to son for twelve generations. Her father, who is a famous eagle hunter, supports her dream. The film shows her incredible journey as she trains a young golden eagle, competes against 70 experienced male eagle hunters in a famous festival, and eventually hunts for foxes in the freezing mountains – all while wearing a traditional business suit. The film challenges deep-seated cultural norms and shows the power of determination." Teacher: "So, what did you notice? Was everything in my story accurate? Turn to your partner and discuss for one minute what you think the deliberate mistake was." |
Students listen attentively to the teacher's story. They then engage in pair work (7 pairs in total) to discuss and identify the deliberate mistake. They share their ideas with the class. |

- AI Tool Integration: An AI image generator (e.g., Midjourney, DALL-E) could be used beforehand to create a realistic but deliberately anachronistic image of an eagle huntress in a business suit to display during the story, enhancing the "spot the mistake" trigger. |
