| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement – Storytelling with a deliberate mistake |
Teacher says: “Listen to my short story. Yesterday I helped my little brother choose a gadget. I told him: ‘You should share your password with your best friend, it’s safe.’ Also I said: ‘The majority of teens use computers only for homework.’ And I added: ‘You shouldn’t use an antivirus program – it slows down the device.’ Hmm… do you agree with my advice? What sounds wrong?” Elicit 2–3 mistakes: sharing password is dangerous; majority use for social media, not only homework; should use antivirus. “Great spotting! Today we learn to give safe advice and talk about how people really use devices.” Differentiation (universal): provide sentence starters on board for struggling learners: “You should / shouldn’t …” |
All 14 engaged – whole-class response; 2–3 individual answers. |
Descriptors only, no points. • Spots at least one mistake. • Uses should/shouldn’t in correction. • Participates in discussion. |
