Teacher: "Good morning, class! Today is our summative lesson for the 'Healthy Habits' unit. To start, I want you to think about everything we've learned. On your mini-whiteboards or a piece of paper, you have 60 seconds to create a mind map. The central idea is 'Healthy Lifestyle'. Write down all words, phrases, and ideas that come to your mind. Ready? Go!" (Times 60 seconds). "Time's up! Now, look at your map. I want you to choose the three most important or interesting ideas from it. In 30 seconds, be ready to share one with the class." After 30 seconds: "Who would like to start? (Listens to 3-4 volunteers). Excellent. 'Regular exercise', 'mental health', 'avoiding junk food' – these are all key. Today, we'll use these concepts in our final assessment tasks, focusing not just on what is said, but what is meant, and using our best vocabulary." |
Students quickly create an individual mind map, writing words like diet, sleep, exercise, stress, water, energy, etc. Students select three key ideas from their map and prepare to articulate one. Volunteers share their chosen idea with the class. |
