| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement (Storytelling with a mistake) |
Teacher: "Good morning, class! Today, let's talk about sports. First, I want to tell you about my weekend. Yesterday, I played a very interesting sport. I took a ball, jumped into the water, and scored a goal! It was so much fun!" (Pause for reaction). "What sport did I play? Can you guess?" Expected Mistake Spotting: The teacher describes actions from football (ball, goal) and swimming (water) mixed together, which is impossible. The teacher will then ask: "Is my story correct? What is wrong?" Script: "So, was I playing football or swimming? Can you do both at the same time? No! So, my story had a mistake. Today, we will learn to talk correctly about our favourite sports so we don't mix things up!" |
Students listen actively. They identify the inconsistency in the story. They raise hands to answer: "You can't play football in the water!" or "You mixed two sports!" They guess the sports (football, swimming). | Visual support: Teacher mimes the actions (kicking, swimming). Provide a choice of two pictures (football, swimming) for students to point to the correct sport in the story. | Descriptors: The student listens attentively. The student identifies the logical error in the story. The student names at least one sport from the description. No points. |
Whiteboard, markers, printed images of football and swimming. |
