| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement method: "Landmark Race" – rapid challenge with a timer |
Teacher cues (script): "Good morning, class! Today we are going to explore famous landmarks around the world. Let's start with a quick race. You have 90 seconds to write down as many landmarks as you can think of – any building, tower, monument, palace – in English. Ready? Go!" After 90 seconds: "Stop! Exchange your list with your neighbour. How many did you get? Let's hear a few – who has the longest list? (call on 2-3 students). Well done! Now look at the pictures on page 17. Do you recognise any of them? What do you already know about the Eiffel Tower, Baiterek, and Buckingham Palace?" Teacher projects a timer (online stopwatch) on the board. |
