Teacher: "Good morning, class! Today we are talking about food. Let's do a quick mind map. What is the first word you think of when I say 'FOOD'? (Writes 'FOOD' in the center of the board). Please, shout out your ideas!" Possible student responses: apple, pizza, bread, milk, tasty, eat. Teacher writes 6-8 associations on the board. "Great! Now, let's look at our mind map. I will choose three words. For example: 'tasty', 'bread', 'milk'. Can anyone make a simple sentence with one of these words? For example: 'Bread is tasty.'" Listens to 2-3 student sentences. "Excellent! Today, we will talk about a special food from Kazakhstan. It is white, salty, and made from milk. Can you guess? Yes, it's Syrne! Our topic is 'My favorite food... Syrne'." |
Students actively call out words related to food. They listen to peers and try to make simple sentences using the selected words from the board (e.g., "I like milk.", "Pizza is tasty."). | Teacher ensures the SEN student is seated near the front. The mind map is visual. Teacher can ask the SEN student directly with a simpler prompt: "[Name], can you point to a tasty food on the board?" | Descriptors only (no points): • The student contributes at least one word to the mind map. • The student attempts to make a sentence or repeats a peer's sentence. |
Whiteboard/marker, digital mind map tool (e.g., Miro.com on teacher's laptop projected). |
