• By the end of the lesson, 5 out of 6 students will correctly pronounce all 26 English letters in random order with 90% accuracy.
• Students will spell (letter by letter) at least 5 familiar words (e.g., cat, dog, sun) using the English alphabet.
• Students will demonstrate fairness and responsibility by checking a partner’s work honestly and following the established rules of pair work.

Teacher: “Good morning, class! Let’s wake up our brains. We will play ‘Alphabet Lightning.’ I will show you a letter card, and you name it as fast as you can. Ready?”

Script continues: “(shows card ‘B’) What letter is this? ... Yes, B! Next: (shows ‘M’)...”

Use a real timer (phone or sand clock) for 30 seconds. The teacher shows 10 letter cards one by one (A, B, C, D, F, M, N, S, T, Z). Students are asked to raise hands. The teacher encourages quick choral response but then asks individual students to say the letter.

Differentiation: For SEN students, teacher shows first 3 letters only and gives extra time (no timer pressure).

Students look at the cards, say the letter name aloud. If they know it, they raise their hand. Those who do not know can repeat after a friend.

Possible responses: “A!”, “B!”, “M!”, “I don’t know...” (teacher supports: “Listen to your friend, repeat.”)

All 6 students participate; 3 students may answer individually, others chorally.

Visual cards with large letters + picture cues. The student with SEN gets a card with letter and matching word (A-apple). Teacher pairs them with a buddy.

Descriptors only (no points):

• Student attempts to name the letter.
• Student repeats after the teacher/buddy.
