Lesson goal
  • By the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify and define at least 5 key terms related to self-expression (e.g., graffiti, manifesto, satire) by matching them to their definitions.
  • Students will be able to discuss and evaluate different forms of self-expression (posters, art, writing) in small groups, justifying their opinions and respectfully commenting on peers' views.
  • Students will create a concept for an original poster on a given social topic, demonstrating a creative and innovative approach to visual communication.

Lesson opening (5 min)
Engagement (method: "What if...?")		 Teacher: "Good morning, everyone. Let's start with a 'What if...?' question to spark our thinking. What if all forms of self-expression – speaking, writing, art, music, fashion – suddenly disappeared for a day? How would our world change? Think for 30 seconds, then share your ideas with the class. I'll write your variants on the board."

Teacher facilitates, writes key ideas (e.g., "no communication," "no art," "people would be frustrated," "society would stop"). 		Students think individually, then volunteer answers. Possible responses: "We couldn't share feelings," "Social media would be empty," "It would be a silent and grey world." Descriptors:
  • Generates a plausible hypothetical consequence.
  • Uses topic-related vocabulary (expression, communication, art).
No points. 		Whiteboard/markers, student notebooks. AI Tool: ChatGPT could be used to generate additional creative "What if" scenarios on self-expression to extend the discussion if needed.
