| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement: “What if…?” |
Teacher writes on the board: “What if the internet was never invented? How would your daily life, your studies, and your connection to the world change?” Teacher: “Think for 30 seconds, then share with your partner (pairs). Try to use the phrase ‘If there were no internet, I would…’.” Teacher asks 3-4 students to share their ideas aloud, writing key vocabulary on the board. Script: “Alright, Grade 10! Close your eyes for a moment. Imagine a world without the Internet. No Google, no YouTube, no email. How would you get information? How would you connect with friends? Share your ‘What if…’ with your partner.” |
Students think individually, then discuss in pairs (pairs face each other). Possible responses: “If there were no internet, I would go to the library more often.” / “I would call my friends on a landline.” 3-4 students share with the whole class. |
