| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement (Storytelling with a trigger) |
Teacher: "Good morning, class! Today, I want to tell you a short story about my friend. Listen carefully. 'This is my friend Tom. Tom has a sister. Name of the sister is Anna. Anna has a cat. The cat tail is very fluffy. Tom also has a bike. The bike color is blue.' Did you notice anything strange in my story?" Pause for answers. "Yes! I said 'The cat tail' and 'The bike color'. That sounds a bit odd, doesn't it? In English, we have a special way to show that something belongs to someone. Today we will learn this rule – the Possessive Case. Can anyone guess how we should say it correctly?" Elicit ideas like "Anna's cat" or "the cat's tail". Write the correct forms on the board: "Anna's cat", "the cat's tail", "Tom's bike", "the bike's color". |
Students listen to the story. They try to identify the incorrect phrases ("The cat tail", "The bike color"). They volunteer guesses for the correct forms. They repeat the corrected phrases chorally. |
