| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement (mind map + discussion) |
Teacher says: “Open your notebook. In one minute, write or draw everything that comes to your mind when you hear shopping. Go!” (1 min timer). After one minute: “Now put your pen down. Look at your map. Choose three words or ideas that are most important. I’ll ask you to share.” Pick 3 students (random) to explain their choice. Possible responses: “I wrote ‘bargain’ because I love finding deals.” / “I drew a receipt – I always keep it.” / “I wrote ‘queue’ because it’s annoying.” Teacher links to the lesson: “Great. Today you will show what you know about shopping vocabulary and how to write about a past shopping trip. You will also practise being diligent and professional – finishing your work with quality.” |
