| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement (storytelling with a deliberate mistake) |
Teacher: “Good morning, class! Today we talk about best friends. Listen to my short story and find the mistake. Ready?” Story: “I have a friend. Her name is Aya. She has got blue eyes and long hair. She has got a dog. There are two cats in her house. But wait… I said she has got a dog, and there are two cats. What is wrong? Yes! I mixed ‘has got’ and ‘there are’. The mistake: after ‘she’ we say ‘has got’, but for ‘cats’ we say ‘there are’. Who can correct?” Teacher: (calls 2-3 students) “What is the mistake? How to fix?” Scaffolded correction: “She has got a dog. There are two cats in her house.” Teacher: “Great! Now we will practise these forms.” |
