Engagement (Storytelling with a trigger)
Teacher: "Good morning, class. Let me tell you a quick story about a recent school event. 'Our school organized a charity clothes drive. It was very successful. We collected many bags of clothes. The bags were left in the corridor. This created a fire hazard. The event was stopped by the principal. Everyone was disappointed.'"
Prompt: "What's wrong with how I told this story? Think about how the ideas are connected."

AI Tool Integration: The teacher uses a text-to-speech AI (like NaturalReaders) to read the story aloud with a flat, monotonous tone to emphasize the lack of flow. Alternatively, the disjointed text is displayed via a presentation tool (Canva, Google Slides) with each sentence on a separate, disconnected slide.
Students listen and think individually. Expected responses: "The sentences are short and don't flow." "It sounds like a list, not a story." "You need words like 'but', 'so', or 'unfortunately' to connect the ideas." Descriptor: The student identifies the lack of connecting words/transitions as the main issue in the narrative.
No points.
Projector/Screen, AI Text-to-Speech tool (e.g., NaturalReaders), Presentation software.
