| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement (method: "What if…?" question) |
Teacher says: "Good morning, everyone! Today we explore a scientific revolution. Imagine: What if all life on Earth were divided into not two but three domains? What would that change about how we see evolution, medicine, or even ourselves? Turn to your partner and share one idea. I'll give you 1 minute." Teacher circulates, listens, prompts quieter students: "What do you think, Aruzhan? Any guess?" After 1 min, teacher asks 2-3 pairs to share. |
Students think individually for 20 sec, then discuss in pairs (7 pairs). Possible responses: "Maybe we'd find new medicines", "It would change textbooks", "We'd have to reclassify bacteria". They share briefly. |
Descriptors (no points): • Participates in pair discussion • Offers at least one idea • Shows curiosity |
