T: "Good morning! Today we're talking about observation and perspective. I'll show you a word: CONTRAST. For 1 minute, in your notebooks, create a mind map. Write down any words, ideas, or images that come to mind. Ready? Go!" (Times 1 minute). "Time's up. Look at your map. Please, choose the three most interesting associations for you. Who would like to share? Aliya, what did you choose?" Possible student responses: "Black and white", "Different cultures", "Old and new". "Thank you. How about you, Daniyar?" Possible student responses: "Summer and winter", "Rich and poor", "Fast and slow". "Excellent. These ideas of difference and comparison are exactly what we need today. We will compare and contrast photos to understand deeper meanings and even generate new ideas." |
Students quickly create a personal mind map around the word "CONTRAST". They select three associations and volunteer to share them with the class, listening to peers' ideas. | Provide a pre-drawn mind map template with some starter words/pictures (e.g., sun/moon, happy/sad emoji). Allow verbal sharing with a partner instead of the whole class. |
