| Lesson opening (5 min) Engagement (Real-life hook & prediction) |
Hook: "Good morning! Look at this picture of my bag. I'm going on a picnic. Can you guess what's inside? I'll give you a clue: there is some fruit, but there isn't any chocolate. Is there anything for you? Let's see!" Show a slide with an image of a half-open bag. Instruction: "In pairs, discuss: What do you think is in the bag? Use the words 'some' or 'any' in your guesses. For example, 'I think there is some bread.' or 'I don't think there is any juice.' You have 2 minutes." Prediction: After discussion, ask a few pairs to share. "Today we will learn the special words that help us talk about quantities and amounts – quantifiers like some, any, something, anything, nothing. By the end, you'll be able to describe exactly what's in your own school bag!" |
Students observe the picture. In pairs (6 pairs total), they discuss and make predictions using "some" and "any". They listen to peers and share their own guesses. They are introduced to the lesson topic. |
